Apple is adding an AI chatbot to Pages, Keynote, and Numbers

Apple is bringing an AI assistant to its suite of productivity apps, including Keynote, Pages, and Numbers. The assistant, which is built on AI models from Apple and OpenAI, can understand a document's context to perform tasks like designing, animating, and refining slides in Keynote.

In Pages, Apple says the AI assistant can draft, restructure, and tweak written content. It can also calculate, visualize, and organize data in Numbers, while suggesting chart types and building custom tables.

Keynote, Pages, and Numbers now support the Model Context Protocol on macOS 27 or later, allowing third-party AI agents to plug into the apps. The AI …

Zen Browser is the Arc replacement I was looking for

Zen Browser showing a Wikipedia tab in a pop-over Glance view.
Launcher-like pinned tabs, pop-over glance view, and more make Zen my go to browser. | Image: Zen Browser

I know many of you are mourning the loss of the Arc browser, and I get it. It felt like the first app in a long time to really offer a new approach to browser design. Atlassian bought the company last year and shifted its focus to developing Dia, its even more AI-focused browser. And soon enough, Arc will officially be no more, leaving dedicated users in a lurch. But I abandoned Arc quite some time ago for the Zen Browser and haven't really missed it. If you're willing to deal with some minor inconveniences, I think you'll find Zen is the Arc replacement you're looking for.

Zen unabashedly rips off all the best bits of Arc. Visually, they'r …

An image showing the Airbnb logo

Checking out of your next Airbnb might be less of a hassle now that the company is banning hosts from including time-consuming chores in their house rules. Airbnb's updated house rules policy, which starts with reservations booked on or after November 20th, says hosts can't ask guests to "complete tasks that require significant effort or time, or would typically be performed by a cleaner." According to Airbnb, that includes:

  • Dishes: Guests shouldn't be asked to wash and put away dishes, but you can ask them to put used dishes in the sink.
  • Laundry: Guests shouldn't be asked to remove sheets from the bed or start a load of laundry, but yo …

Now Serato DJ works on your iPhone

Serato DJ for iOS running on an iPhone

Serato DJ for iOS is finally bringing the company's pro-level DJ suite to the iPhone and iPad. Until now, the company had only dipped its toes into mobile software, with apps like Pyro that basically just added some autofades between songs in a playlist. This is the first time most of the features of its flagship DJ app are available on a mobile device, even though competitors like Rekordbox and Algoriddim have had proper mobile DJ apps for some time.

If you're a DJ used to Serato on a laptop, the workflow should feel instantly familiar. You can even transfer your library directly from Serato DJ 5.0 on your laptop to your iOS device either …

Spotify’s logo

Spotify says it has removed more than 50 million songs considered AI-generated slop or spam from user recommendations over the past year. That's according to an announcement on Tuesday that says Spotify has also made changes to its recommendation system to highlight more music made by human artists.

"Our editors hold the same standard and don't program content identified as slop or spam," Spotify says. "Since we made these changes, we've seen a marked decrease in listener concerns about this content showing up in recommendations."

Though Spotify has stopped short of mandating labels on all AI tracks, it launched an "AI Persona" badge for …

A before and after photo showing open eyes added to a photo of a person with their eyes closed.

Adobe announced yesterday that the mobile version of Lightroom, available for iOS, iPadOS, and Android, can now open closed eyes in photos using generative AI with just a single tap. When the app detects a person, or a group of people, have their eyes closed in a photo it will automatically present users with a new Open Eyes Quick Action that appears as an icon over the image providing easy access to the new feature.

Being able to easily save an otherwise great photo by opening a subject's eyes has been a feature in Adobe's Photoshop Elements for nearly a decade, but as DPReview points out, Elements sources the replacement from another phot …

A fake WhatsApp clone is showing up before the real version on the Play Store

After a Chrome clone was spotted on the Play Store earlier this week, a user on Reddit says they're seeing a fake version of WhatsApp in a "sponsored" slot above the real version. As reported earlier by Android Authority, the WhatsApp dupe has racked up over 500,000 downloads and, at the time of writing, its Play Store listing is still live.

Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The WhatsApp clone is from a developer going by "Agment Assets sallu" who doesn't currently have anything else listed on the Play Store. Their listing for the WhatsApp impostor has the same icon, screenshots, and text as the real version, but …

It looks like Apple Music is getting a new icon

An image from Twitter user @avstorm showing the new and old Apple Music icons after iOS 27.2 beta 4

Apple Music's iconic red app icon has reportedly been replaced with a black-and-white version in the latest iOS 27.2 beta, 9to5Mac reports. The eighth note on the icon also appears to have a slightly sharper angle than the original. A new Apple Music logo was also spotted last month on the Apple Music Hall website, so the company could be refreshing its app icon to match.

According to 9to5Mac, the new icon is a black music note on a white background in light mode, or the opposite in dark mode. The icon's not the only thing that's been drained of color, either - 9to5Mac also says Apple Music widgets now have black backgrounds and the app now …
