Apple has just released iOS 27.2, bringing Apple Pencil support to the iPhone Duo. The software update also includes an "Edge Light" feature for the iPhone Duo that's intended to illuminate your face during video calls.

Apple previously said the iPhone Duo would add support for the Apple Pencil "later this year." The company's first foldable comes with revamped iOS 27 controls designed to work across the device's 7.6-inch inner display and 5.4-inch outer screen. Many major apps, like Netflix, Prime Video, and Microsoft Outlook, already support the Duo's extra screen real estate, but some still need some work.

26 October 2026 at 14:10

Helldivers 2 players can celebrate Liberty Day in-game today and claim a special reward to commemorate the occasion.

Helldivers 2 Liberty Day Rifle Reward Details

Helldivers 2 launched all the way back in February 2024, but the game is still going strong thanks to frequent updates and exciting in-game activities. This week delivers the annual Liberty Day celebration and a handful of minigames for players to enjoy as they check in for the occasion.

β€œLong ago, before the formation of the Democratic Council, humanity lived in utter undemocratic chaos. Citizens of Super Earth had no reliable sources of truth. People believed anything, everything, with erratic voting records influenced by information, misinformation, and disinformation. Society was crumbling, descending into total democratic anarchy. We needed leadership and action to unite our beliefs, our votes, and our views.”

Every October 26, the Helldivers community comes together to celebrate all the wonderful things Managed Democracy has given them. Part of that celebration luckily involves a nice reward for players.

β€œFor Liberty Day 2186, we have some new celebration items especially for our Helldivers: aboard your Super Destroyers this year, we have drafted new regulations regarding holiday ship adornments for October 26. Now, for 24 hours on our special day, you will see banners, rugs, party supplies, and other fun decorations aboard your ship.”

Liberty Day Gift:

  • The AR-23L Liberator Legacy
    • This classic modeled after weapons used in the First Galactic War will bring a retro flair to modern loadouts.
    • The AR-23L Liberator Legacy will be rewarded at the conclusion of the Liberty Day celebrations. Be sure to log in and participate in the celebrations to claim your gift.

Liberty Day Minigames:

  • Minidivers. Work together in the chat to send emoji stratagem codes and stop the waves of enemies.
  • Adopt-a-SEAF. Receive your very own blueberry to care for and send on missions. Meet your new friend on the frontlines.
  • Oath of Enlistment. Do your part and receive a copy of your oath to keep.
  • Raise the Flag. Salute in the chat and raise the flag together.

Note that some of the minigames are only available to members of the official Helldivers 2 Discord server.

That should be just about everything players need to know to prepare to hop into the event, check out some minigames, and claim their Liberty Day reward.

Be sure to check back soon for lots more Helldivers 2 news and updates.

Helldivers 2 is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles.

40 Years Ago, Universal Studios’ First Halloween Horror Nights Ended in Tragedy

26 October 2026 at 03:03

On October 31, 1986, Universal Studios Hollywood launched its first-ever Halloween Horror Nights event. The big draw that evening was the Terror Tram, which was really just their normal, everyday Studio Tour repurposed to scare the crap out of people. β€œIt’s one Halloween you’ll never forget. That is…if you live to talk about it,” promised a print advertisement for the event. Unfortunately, those words would end up sounding eerily prescient afterward.

At some point during the nighttime tour, trams were supposed to drive by a parked tram full of mannequins made up to look like corpses. That was 20-year-old Paul Rebalde’s cue to jump out from the pile of fake dead bodies and try to frighten the folks on the passing vehicles. However, one of those attempts didn’t go according to plan, and Rebalde somehow got himself stuck between the third and fourth sections of a four-section tram. In the process, he was run over and dragged for roughly 100 feet.

The Tragic Death That Shut Down Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights for YEARS

Sadly, Rebalde was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 9 p.m. that night. β€œThere was no indication that the tram had a problem or anything like that,” said Universal Studios publicity director Joan Bullard of the incident. β€œThe sheriff has told us that it was an unfortunate accident,” she continued. Though no changes were made to the show, Bullard assured visitors that safety procedures β€œwould be heightened even more” the following evening.

Rebalde had been working several jobs at the park leading up to his death, including selling toys and managing a booth that sold film by the front gate. β€œHe was one of the sweetest kids that worked up here,” recalled a fellow Universal Studios employee. β€œHe was the kind of guy that always walked around with a smile on his face. Everybody liked him,” they added.

Halloween Horror Nights was discontinued for six years due to the tragedy, but eventually returned in 1992.
