The Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score release date is Friday, December 11, 2026. Yes, that means players will have to wait just over three weeks after GTA 6’s launch to listen to the full score created by Justice. Rough Trade also lists December 11 as the release date for its physical editions.

However, we now have new details about the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI score ahead of its December launch. According to its Apple Music listing page, The GTA 6 score will feature 50 tracks. So far, only two songs have been revealed: “Flower In A Hurricane” and “Pusher.”

The new GTA 6 single “Pusher” is available today, October 29, and features Justice and French DJ Gesaffelstein. Fans wanting a physical copy of the score can also pre-order vinyl and CD editions, which we’ll break down below.

New GTA 6 Gameplay Revealed in South Park Shows a Disgusting Feature

29 October 2026 at 11:29

Rockstar Games has revealed new GTA 6 gameplay in the latest South Park episode. The clip shows off a Grand Theft Auto VI feature that lets players attack NPCs with dog poop. It’s both hilarious and as disgusting as you’d expect!

South Park Features New GTA 6 Gameplay

New GTA 6 gameplay was featured in the South Park Season 29 episode “Guinea Pig on a Stick,” which aired on October 28. In the episode, Randy, Kyle, and the others are given a presentation on Grand Theft Auto VI’s groundbreaking features. Surprisingly, the show then cuts to actual GTA 6 gameplay footage that has never been seen before.

The new video shows Jason and Lucia on a crowded beach before things take a pretty disgusting turn. The footage then reveals that players can pick up dog poop in the overworld and throw it at NPCs. Disgustingly, players can also wield the feces as a melee item and slap an NPC across the face with it. Yeah, it’s both awesome and pretty nasty at the same time.

However, dog poop jokes aside, the new GTA 6 gameplay footage also gives us another look at the game’s breathtaking beaches. Just like in the debut trailer, the crowd density in the clip is absolutely insane, and the scene is packed with incredible detail. And yes, you can beat NPCs with dog poop. That’s a thing.

The ending credits for South Park’s “Guinea Pig on a Stick” also confirmed that the GTA 6 gameplay demo was not a joke just made for the show, and was actually authentic. The credits revealed that Rockstar Games actually sent the animation studio the gameplay so it could be used in the show.

This is pretty neat, as it’s another example of Rockstar finding unusual ways to show off its game. Of all the places to reveal new Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay, a South Park episode featuring a dog poop fight feels like a pretty fitting choice.

So yeah, if you ever wanted to beat an NPC up with dog poop, Rockstar has apparently been thinking about you. Between the crowded beach and the bizarre ways players can interact with its residents, the clip gives us another reason to spend hours messing around in Vice City.

Alongside the screenshots, the special edition features an extensive interview with Rockstar Games about Grand Theft Auto VI. The issue’s 16-page cover story follows a visit to the developer’s Edinburgh headquarters.

There is quite a lot to unpack here, including police K-9 units, usable public transportation, and a closer look at how pedestrians react to your actions. For your convenience, here is a breakdown of the features and development details covered in the issue:

Open World and Exploration

GTA 6 Leonida Map Screenshot
Screenshot: Rockstar Games
  • Massive map: Leonida is described as nearly matching the combined playable areas of GTA 4, GTA 5, and Red Dead Redemption 2.
  • More interiors: Players will have access to considerably more indoor locations than in previous Grand Theft Auto games.
  • Usable public transportation: Both Jason and Lucia can travel using fully functioning bus and train networks.
  • Longer days and nights: The day/night cycle lasts significantly longer than it does in GTA 5.
  • More believable roads: Streets and highways have been made narrower to give them a more realistic feel.
  • A densely populated world: Beyond its size, the preview highlights how much activity and detail Rockstar has packed into the map.
  • Places still being discovered: Rockstar’s head of development says he still encounters areas he has never seen, even after years of working on the game.
  • Dedicated world-building teams: Separate teams worked on fictional brands, billboards, radio commercials, television programming, pedestrians, and political campaigns.

NPCs and Character Reactions

GTA 6 Mud Rally
Screenshot: Rockstar Games
  • A studio focused on NPCs: Rockstar established an entire studio dedicated to developing the game’s non-player characters.
  • Individual personalities: NPC behavior takes into account temperament, aggression, location, what they have witnessed, and how the player treats them.
  • Different neighborhood reactions: Pedestrians behave differently depending on the district, with some more willing to confront you instead of immediately fleeing.
  • Visible weapons attract attention: Simply walking around with a shotgun can alarm nearby pedestrians, even if you never aim it at anyone.
  • How you carry weapons matters: A gun resting over your shoulder may draw less concern than one held in your hands. Some people may also challenge you.
  • Room to de-escalate: Players can drop a weapon, and certain situations give you some leeway before triggering a wanted level.
  • Reactions to unpleasant surroundings: Characters can display different levels of disgust depending on their environment. In one example, Jason recoils after entering a house that a dog has trashed.
  • Unpredictable encounters: A robbery victim might fight back, a shopper could intervene during a gas station holdup, or another group of drivers could challenge you to a street race during an escape.

Crime and Police Pursuits

GTA 6 Jason and Lucia Police Chase
Screenshot: Rockstar Games
  • Police K-9 units: Dogs will take part in police pursuits.
  • A more detailed heat system: Police track information about your location, clothing, and accomplices.
  • Drivers can resist carjackings: Some motorists carry weapons and will fight back when you try to steal their vehicles.
  • Vehicle trackers: Certain cars have tracking devices, adding another complication to stealing them.
  • Criminal Profile system: Your behavior places you on a scale ranging from Professional to Irredeemable, represented by angel and devil icons.
  • Alternatives to killing: Players can incapacitate enemies or try threats and intimidation before turning to lethal force.
  • Story consequences: Your Criminal Profile can influence how Jason and Lucia’s story develops.
  • More dangerous criminal activity: Robberies and escapes are designed to feel less predictable, with other people capable of disrupting your plans.

Jason, Lucia, and the Story

GTA 6 Launch Jason and Lucia Trailer
Screenshot: Rockstar Games
  • Switchable protagonists: Players can switch between Jason and Lucia, similar to the character-switching system in GTA 5.
  • An established emotional connection: Unlike GTA 5’s protagonists, Jason and Lucia begin with a shared emotional history.
  • A relationship scale: Their closeness is tracked across four levels and increases as they spend more time together.
  • Partners in crime: Players can influence their relationship and criminal behavior, while their partnership remains central to the story.
  • Leaving crime behind: Whether their criminal lifestyle is worth continuing is a major theme of the narrative.
  • Red Dead Redemption 2 influence: Rockstar says its previous game had a substantial impact on GTA 6’s storytelling.
  • Overlapping development: Work on GTA 6 and Red Dead Redemption 2 overlapped for several years, with Rockstar tracing its approach to a more interactive open world back to at least 2015.
  • The central relationship came later: Rockstar settled on the Bonnie and Clyde-style pairing after completing Red Dead Redemption 2.

Vehicles, Services, and Buffs

GTA 6 Lucia Car
Screenshot: Rockstar Games
  • Personal vehicle delivery: A service called Scooter Bros brings your vehicles to you, including the weapons stored in the trunk.
  • Quick refueling: Rockstar says filling up is fast and a full tank lasts a long time. Low fuel also leaves players some room to keep traveling.
  • Vehicle searches through WAINK: Players can use the app to locate specific vehicles sought by criminal fences. Their condition affects how much money you receive.
  • Food and drink bonuses: Coffee boosts stamina, while protein shakes provide a health buff.

Between the more reactive pedestrians and the added complications during robberies, even a simple car theft sounds like it could get out of hand pretty quickly. We won’t have much longer to see how these systems work together, as GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Grand Theft Auto 6 will take up 210 gigabytes of your hard drive

28 October 2026 at 18:27
GTA VI

Ahead of Grand Theft Auto 6's preload early next month, I and many others have been wondering how much space to clear before it smacks into our collective hard drives with the force of a thousand suns. Triple-A games have been steadily ballooning in size, after all, partially to force other games off of your system and partially because devs don't seem to care much about compression anymore. — Read the rest

28 October 2026 at 12:35

The wait for GTA 6 is almost over, with Rockstar Games’ next open-world adventure scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026. If you’ve been counting down the days until your return to Vice City, there’s less than a month left to go. Here’s a quick breakdown of the GTA 6 release date, how many days remain, and why some countries will get to play before others.

When Does GTA 6 Come Out?

GTA 6 comes out on Thursday, November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar Games has confirmed the November launch date for Grand Theft Auto VI, so players have just a few more weeks to wait before returning to Vice City.

The game takes players to the state of Leonida, which includes a modern-day Vice City. This time, the story follows Jason and Lucia as they become caught up in a criminal conspiracy and have to rely on each other to survive.

For anyone checking whether the release date has changed, November 19 is still the day to mark on your calendar. And no, GTA 6 has not been delayed, and is really launching in just a few weeks. It’s actually happening!

Will GTA 6 Release at the Same Time Around the World?

GTA 6 is currently expected to have a staggered regional launch, meaning everyone won’t get access at the exact same moment. Regional PlayStation Store listings indicate midnight unlocks based on each store’s main time zone.

Based on the current regional schedule, New Zealand is expected to get GTA 6 first, ahead of players in countries such as the UK and the United States. That’s because November 19 arrives there earlier, rather than New Zealand having a separate release date or an early-access edition.

New Zealand will be the first country to play Grand Theft Auto VI when the game unlocks at midnight on November 19th for them.

Rockstar hasn’t published its own complete launch-time schedule yet, so the regional timing is worth checking again closer to release. For now, the key date remains November 19, 2026 aorund the world.

‘GTA 6’ Could Cause 1.5 Million Americans to Miss Work on Release Day, According to Experts

20 October 2026 at 23:44

To say the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI game is highly anticipated is like saying water is wet. As of this month, estimated pre-orders have reached 6 million copies, with PS5 pre-orders accounting for 4.8 million alone. But is it possible that this latest addition to the Grand Theft Auto franchise could actually have a negative impact on the U.S. economy?

Waking up and going to work on GTA 6 release day might be a little difficult, knowing the game is sitting on the console or PC, ready to play and yet out of reach. Since the game has been in development in one stage or another for over ten years, impatience is understandable. And depending on a player’s schedule, both at work and at home, it’s possible that they may only eke out a few hours in the game before heading to bed.

Those considerations might be at play as experts predict just how many people could call out of work on November 19. According to online reports, up to 1.5 million people might call in sick, utilize available vacation time, or cash in paid time off. Some companies, says the Wall Street Journal, have even incorporated the release date into their PTO packages. Either way, it seems that companies are bracing themselves for a weakened workforce, with swaths of employees taking the day off to dedicate themselves to this new Grand Theft Auto chapter.

Experts predict millions could be calling out of work on ‘GTA 6’ release day

The first Grand Theft Auto game launched back in 1997, and since then the franchise has totaled billions of dollars in revenue and millions of copies sold. The most recent offering, Grand Theft Auto V, released in 2013 and brought in almost $10 billion in revenue to Rockstar Games. Grand Theft Auto games offer players the opportunity to explore an open world, from Liberty City, to San Andreas, and the most recent location, Vice City. Alongside the main storyline, each game has a variety of missions and side quests to complete, meaning there is multiple hours of gameplay available.

In Grand Theft Auto VI, the story takes its inspiration from infamous couple Bonnie and Clyde, with protagonists Jason and Lucia choosing to work together to create a new life for themselves. For anyone familiar with Grand Theft Auto – or even just the title – it’s not surprising that this includes turning to crime. When things get dangerous, the pair has to lean on each other to survive. Players take control of Jason and Lucia respectively as the story develops, and in addition to the main story, there are side quests to take on, missions to execute, and activities to discover.

With all that in mind, it seems that anticipation for Grand Theft Auto VI could have real economic consequences, and not just for the studio. But the enthusiasm is completely understandable, especially considering how long players have been waiting for the game to arrive. Add in an exciting new story, including Lucia in her unique role as a fully realized female protagonist, and players being eager to get started isn’t so surprising at all.

No, Rockstar Didn’t Say GTA 6 Is Unfinished Weeks Before Launch

17 October 2026 at 15:46

A recent Bloomberg report has sparked speculation among some players that GTA 6 could be unfinished just weeks before launch. However, comments about Rockstar continuing to make changes to the game have been taken out of context. Here is what the developer actually said about the release of Grand Theft Auto VI.

Rockstar’s GTA 6 Development Comments explained

GTA 6 Launch Trailer Artwork

Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier recently published an extensive report about the making of GTA 6. However, a rumor that Grand Theft Auto VI was not completed yet only weeks before launch spread online, after some players took several quotes from the Bloomberg piece out of context.

In the report, Rockstar’s Phil Hooker explained that the studio has continued making changes to the game even months before launch: “The game’s never completely settled. We never have an exact blueprint. Even within the last few months, we’ve changed things.”

GTA 6 Beach Trailer
Screenshot: Rockstar Games

The quote doesn’t say that GTA 6 as a whole is unfinished weeks before release. It also doesn’t suggest that Rockstar plans to ship Grand Theft Auto VI with missing features or significant compromises.

The quote was largely talking about Grand Theft Auto VI being so ambitious on a technical level, that they continue to make refinements due to just how complex the game is. It was also explaining why the game took so long to get made.

Rockstar’s GTA 6 Comments Need More Context

GTA 6 Launch Jason and Lucia Trailer
Screenshot: Rockstar Games

One detail being overlooked is that Schreier visited Rockstar North in September. That places the conversation months before the game’s late November launch, rather than in the final days before release.

The wording matters here, too. Hooker said the team had changed things “within the last few months.” That doesn’t establish how significant those changes were or suggest that major features still needed to be completed. It also doesn’t give us context what build they were on, or when exactly those changes were made.

The other aspect I think that should be considered, is the context with which the quote was given. In their conversation with Jason Schreier, Rockstar were talking about just how complex GTA 6 is on a technical level. To demonstrated this, here is an excerpt from Schreier and Rockstar describing how a night club works in GTA 6:

GTA 6 Lucia Club Dancing
Screenshot: Rockstar Games

“Designing a club for a typical video game might mean generating a few nonplayable characters in different-colored shirts, says top artist Aaron Garbut. In GTA VI, though, it means animating and scripting each individual patron, creating drinks, adding music, crafting lighting, matching the music to that lighting and composing all the other “layers and layers and layers of detail” that make a virtual club feel as authentic as possible.”

That example helps explain the level of detail Rockstar is working towards with GTA 6 and gives a little more context about the changes they continue to make given how complex the game’s systems are. All this to say, panic around Grand Theft Auto VI being “incomplete” seem to largely be unwarranted and started from a misunderstanding of Jason Schreier’s excellent report on the development of the game.
